RE: New Sea Breeze Owner

You can also try this link to another National RV forum. There's some pretty good info over there.

RE: scottsdale az????

Like others have said, there's nothing much actually in Scottsdale. Try check out some of THESE PARKS. Most of them are within about 30 minutes of the auction. Have fun at the auction. It's really impressive.

RE: RV park very close to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale AZ

Eagle View RV Resort is approx. 7-10 miles from the original Hospital in Scottsdale. Not sure if that's the hospital you're looking for though. They have at least one more in Scottsdale, near 56th St. and HWY 101 (on Mayo Blvd.) No idea about shuttles from RV parks.

RE: Phoenix, AZ Highways

take I-25 south from Albuquerque and then I-10 west from Las Cruces, NM. That route will also avoid the mountains between Flagstaff and Phoenix.
That's quite a few miles out of your way. I'd stick to I-40 West to I-17 South to I-10 east. Like most others have said, just plan your trip through Phoenix either mid day during the week, or on the weekend. Weekday rush hour traffic can get pretty nasty.

RE: What to store tires on?

When you park your car in the driveway or garage, do you put wood under the tires? Why would an RV be any different?

RE: Operating an awning

My awning intimidated me too for the first few trips. I got to where I'd open and close it a couple of times a day, just for the practice. Once you get used to it, it's not that hard. Just make sure you keep the same routine all the time, so you don't miss anything.

RE: Power Gear hydraulic level --- intermittent alarm beep.

Thanks for all the quick tips. I have already checked fluid and it's right below the fill spout. I had the float switch replaced right before this last trip. Brian's response mentioned adjusting the float switch. What is there to adjust? I'm thinking about just disconnecting the float switch at the reservoir if it continues on my next trip. As long as I know the fluid level is OK, this should be OK. Shouldn't it???

RE: Power Gear hydraulic level --- intermittent alarm beep.

Yes, all jacks were fully retracted. The alarm made it's first chirp after driving almost 3 hours, then continued, intermittently, for the next 30 minutes until I got home.

Power Gear hydraulic level --- intermittent alarm beep.

While coming home from my last trip, my PowerGear Hydraulic Level system started an occasional beep from the warning buzzer. It would beep about 3 times, then stop. A few miles later, the same thing. I thought maybe the fluid level may be low and was sloshing around causing the intermittent problem, but the fluid is fine. Any other ideas?
Thanks for everyone's help.

RE: power surge protection

THIS is the one I use. It saved my butt twice on my last trip when nearby lightning tripped it. It reset itself after about 2 minutes when the power was safe again.

RE: Radio antenna replacement

Good point about keeping it taller than the A/C units. I hadn't thought about that. I guess I should get up on top and see how flexible my current one is. I figure to keep the clearance at least one foot above the highest point of the MH, so it needs to be able flex enough to not put strain on the mount.

Radio antenna replacement

I'm considering having a RV cover built and have a clearance question. My radio antenna is one of those long ones, maybe 24 to 28 inches tall. Can it be replaced with a shorter antenna, using the same mount? I'd like to keep it no taller than the A/C units.

RE: questions about area around zion river resort

We were in Zion River Resort a couple of months ago, and the Lin's in Hurricane is the closest "full service" grocery store, about a 20-25 minute drive the the resort. There's a small market a little closer, but I think it was closed on Sunday when we drove by.

RE: Inverter/charger and converter...

Thanks wa8yxm for the succinct answer. But if the inverter/charger replaces the converter, what runs the 12 volt system?

Inverter/charger and converter...

OK, this may sound like a stupid question, but I'm confused over something. I know the difference between inverters and converters, but if you have an inverter/charger, does it replace the converter/charger? With an inverter/charger installed, where and how does a converter come into play?
Thanks.

RE: Serious Question

Can't say as I've seen anyone in bibs lately, but when I think of them I can't help but think of my Uncle Paul. He worked for the railroad years ago and always wore bibs. RIP Uncle Paul.
